DUNDALK have been dealt a major blow for the second half of the season as key midfielder Keith Ward has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign with a knee injury.
Ward (22) had made a major impact at Oriel Park since his close season move from Bohemians and helped Stephen Kenny's side push into the top four. But Ward suffered a cruciate injury during Friday's dramatic win over league leaders St Patrick's Athletic, a costly injury.
"Just found out done me cruciate, season over for me. Nightmare, especially with team doing well," Ward said on his twitter account.
Boss Stephen Kenny may now try to strengthen his squad ahead of the second half of the league season.
