Dundalk lose summit seat as Fingal fire

THIS game started with a bang, but in the end it failed to live up to its early promise.

The question is, will that prove the story of Dundalk's season as they relinquished their place at the top of the league with a third straight defeat in all competitions last night?

The Lilywhites fell behind in the fifth minute to a near-post header from former Drogheda midfielder Shaun Williams.

Just five minutes later, Fahrudin Kuduzovic showed a touch of pure class when he equalised with a sublime lob from the edge of the box.

The two sides were very evenly matched, but maybe it was an indication of the superior strength in depth Fingal possess when substitute Glen Crowe touched a superb flick into the path of Ronan Finn, who slotted home the winner.

Liam Buckley's side were reduced to 10 men with six minutes to go after Ger O'Brien was red-carded for a body check, but the Dubliners held out to go level with Dundalk on points.
