WOLVES boss Mick McCarthy was happy with the display of Irish defender Matt Doherty on his Premier League debut on Saturday.
Former Bohemians man Doherty played 45 minutes for Wolves in their defeat to Liverpool but he came in for praise from McCarthy despite the defeat.
“The Doc is very highly thought of at the club and had an excellent Premier League debut,” said McCarthy.
“He’s been ticking along, playing in the reserves, doing well and training with the first team. The second half on Saturday was another great performance from him.”
