Derby boss happy with Keogh form

NIGEL CLOUGH is delighted with the form of former Ireland U-21 cap Richard Keogh at Derby County, writes AIDAN FITZMAURICE.

The defender, capped 11 times at U-21 level, moved from Coventry City to Championship outfit Derby in the summer and has made a big impression on manager Clough.

"He's been outstanding in the 10 games," said Clough.

"His level of performance for a player new to a club has been very, very high.

"After losing Jason Shackell, we knew we needed a centre-half and I don't think for the money we had available we could have got anybody better than Richard.

"He's slotted in really well. You would think he's been here a year or two but he has been here only three months.

"That is credit to the other lads and the spirit here but also great credit to him."
