CRAWLEY LET THREE IRISH GO

LEAGUE ONE side Crawley Town have reacted to a poor display this season by releasing 11 first-team players, including three Irish players.

A 14th place finish in the table was a disappointment and boss John Gregory has wielded the axe, with Irish lads Mark Connolly, Billy Clarke and Gary Dicker among those released.

Cork native Clarke was the club's top scorer with seven goals last season but that was not enough to earn the 27-year-old a new deal while Gregory has also called time on Monaghan lad Connolly's two-year spell there. Ex-UCD man Dicker only joined the club from Rochdale in January.
