Cork stay in touch with leaders after home win

CORK City showed that they have the appetite for a league challenge as they came from behind to win at home to Sligo Rovers and keep up the pressure on Dundalk.

Sligo went in front at Turner's Cross through Danny Ledwith's 31st minute strike but Mark O'Sullivan levelled on 57 minutes and Billy Dennehy (above) hit the winner five minutes later.

Bohemians remain in contention for a top-six finish thanks to a 2-0 win at home to Limerick. Jason Byrne set them on the way and Dave Mulcahy (71) added a second.

Athlone's bid for survival was boosted with a 1-1 draw away to Derry City. Derek Doyle helped Athlone get a shock lead on nine minutes and Derry needed an equaliser from Rory Patterson to draw.

Bray Wanderers remain in danger as they could only draw 1-1 away to Drogheda United. Adam Hanlon had given Bray the lead on 62 minutes but United drew level through Paul Andrews on 74 minutes.
