Cork down Drogs to share the summit

For the first time since the end of May, Dundalk are no longer top of the Premier Division table on their own.

Cork City moved level on points with the Airtricity League leaders courtesy of a 2-1 victory over Drogheda United at soaking wet Turner's Cross last night.

John Dunleavy and Mark O'Sullivan (pictured) hit the target for the Leesiders in an exciting clash against Damien Richardson's Drogs.

Drogheda substitute Declan O'Brien notched his side's goal late on to ensure a nervy finish for the home side.

Elsewhere, Athlone Town's Premier Division survival bid was dented as Limerick FC earned a deserved victory at Thomond Park.

A second-half brace from Kieran Djilali proved the difference in the final outcome, with the sides having been level at 1-1 during half-time.
