Swords Manor Under-8s are just about to complete their third year at the Under-8 level and will now move on to Under-9s next season, meaning they have really enjoyed the fruits of the NDSL's futsal and 5-a-side football games.
Amazingly, they have scored 290 goals this season, with Conor Rice their main young striker with 74 goals. Now that is impressive!
The team will move to 7-a-side football next season, but with at least three more years of non-competitive football ahead of them, the future is a very bright and positive one for the youngsters.
The club would also like to let everyone know there is always room for them at the Manor and anyone interested in joining a team next season can find more details on the club at www.swordsmanorfc.com.
U12 stars crowned Leinster champs
A 1-0 victory was enough for the NDSL Under-12 Academy side to be crowned Leinster Champions last weekend as they saw off Kilkenny in the Oscar Traynor Centre.
The NDSL youngsters now face a home semi-final against the Limerick Desmond League on Saturday, May 11 as their success in this season's Cashin Cup becomes ever nearer.
The Cork and Mayo leagues meet in the second semi-final.
There wasn't good news coming out of the Naas Sports Centre last Sunday for the NDSL Under-15 squad, though, as they lost out in their Leinster title playoff against Kildare 2-0.
The NDSL side were unfortunate to lose the game and things just conspired to go against them.
Rivervalley's U10s are shining bright
My recent visit to see the Under-10 Premiers of Rivervalley Rangers saw one youngster in particular grab the headlines but many of these youngsters are ones to watch out for in the future.
And four of the side were part of the NDSL squad that impressed so many in the recent DB Sport-tours Manchester Cup.
Mayowa 'Val' Adedokou, Michael McGreal, Cian Nolan and Ryan Kinahan all caught the eye of onlookers in Manchester.
