Coleman: Best to stay at Coventry

COVENTRY City boss Chris Coleman says he expects Ireland striker Leon Best to see out the rest of the season with the Sky Blues, writes Aidan Fitzmaurice.

Best, capped six times by Giovanni Trapattoni, has been linked with several clubs during the transfer window, with Middlesbrough reportedly bidding for the player. But Coleman admits that, while Best is likely to leave Coventry at some stage this year, he will stay put until the summer.

"Maybe we will keep him until the end of the season, and if we do that and can't agree a new contract we won't be losing him for nothing because of the compensation rule," Coleman said.
