CHELSEA are preparing to make Laurent Blanc the highest-paid manager in the Premier League if he moves to Stamford Bridge over the summer.
Intermediaries acting on Abramovich's behalf have been in contact with Blanc's representatives to determine if the Frenchman will move to London.
Blanc is out of contract with the French Football Federation after this summer's Euros and Abramovich is keen to avoid adding to the £30m he has spent hiring and firing managers over the past 12 months.
Blanc would be expected to earn around £8m a season at the Bridge and Blanc's camp have also been given a clear indication as to the transfer kitty that he would have.
Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho are viewed as viable alternatives but Blanc is seen as the more realistic option, while Didier Deschamps and David Moyes are believed not to excite the Russian owner.
