FORMER Ireland man Liam Lawrence could be heading for the Champions League next season after he helped his Greek club, PAOK, qualify for the competition.
PAOK beat PAS Giannina 2-1 last night in the final game of a play-off to decide Greece's second entrant into the Champions League and though Lawrence didn't feature in that game he did play in the other five games in the playoffs.
The 31-year-old is out of contract with PAOK and while the club had stated their desire to offer him a new deal, Lawrence will consider his options.
EAMON ZAYED hopes to make his competitive debut for Libya in a World Cup qualifier on Friday after helping the side to a 3-0 friendly win over the weekend.
The Dublin native, who qualifies for Libya through the parentage rule, had been frustrated by red tape in a bid to progress his international career with the Libyans but he was cleared to start for the side as they beat Uganda 3-0 in Tripoli on Saturday.
