Celtic set to suffer Pat's horror show

The FAI Intermediate Cup is just a couple of rounds old, but has already proven a nightmare for Senior Division clubs.

Tonight, in Ringsend Park, St Pat's CY and Wayside Celtic will look to avoid an Inter Cup horror show.

It has been a turbulent start to the new campaign for the Saints. So far this season they have appeared in a cup final, won only one game in the league and changed their manager. Mark Benson, a former Blackburn Rovers player and CY first team coach, returns to the club.

But Wayside will aim to gatecrash the party.

FAI INTERMEDIATE CUP 2nd Round

(Senior Division Teams)

ST PAT'S CY v WAYSIDE CELTIC

It's hard to figure out just which Wayside will show up: the free-scoring side that hit Firhouse for eight or the one that slumped to two defeats in their last three. Pat's should prove too strong. Verdict: St Pat's

BANGOR CELTIC v RATHCOOLE BOYS

Celtic's biggest worry tomorrow will be complacency. Rathcoole should be no match for Bangor. Verdict: Bangor

BROADFORD ROVERS v CHERRY ORCHARD

Like Bangor, the Orchard's biggest enemy will be complacency. If the Orchard can avoid a war of attrition their class will show. Verdict: Cherry Orchard.
