Ledley King will have to leave his trusted fitness coach at home when he links up with England's World Cup hopefuls next month.
Despite his notoriously fragile knees, King has performed well enough during the latter months of the season to convince Fabio Capello he is worth a place in his 30-man provisional squad.
It is common knowledge that King does not train, which will make it hard for Capello to make a judgement outside the two friendlies, against Mexico at Wembley on May 24, and Japan in Graz, Austria, six days later. However, Capello will not make too many exceptions for the Spurs captain, so fitness coach Nathan Gardiner will not be accompanying him to Austria.
