MARTIN O'Neill has handed Jack Grealish an international ultimatum and named him in his extended squad for Ireland's summer programme against England and Scotland.

The ball is now very firmly in Grealish's court and it remains to be seen how he will respond.

There is also no word, one way or the other, about Roy Hodgson's intentions but O'Neill has clearly decided to bring the matter to a head.

By naming him in this squad, he is forcing Grealish to make an earlier declaration than he wanted to.

In the run-up to this squad announcement, the feeling was that he wants to continue his U21 career with Ireland and not make a call one way or other about his final international decision.

England remain keen on the teenager and a call-up to their U20 squad for a friendly tournament in Toulon had been mooted, though Grealish is not eligible to play for the English at the U21 Euro finals next month.
