IRISH defender Clifford Byrne has backed his Scunthorpe United side to dump high-flying Manchester City out of the FA Cup tomorrow.
City have already beaten the Championship side 5-1 in the Carling Cup this season, but centre-half Byrne, Scunthorpe's Dublin-born captain, believes that his club can catch City cold and boot Britain's most expensive side out of the FA Cup.
"I feel we really have the potential to cause an upset against City tomorrow," Byrne told the Evening Herald.
"City outclassed us 5-1 at Eastlands, but we'll see how they cope tomorrow at our place, where it's a small stadium and the pitch mightn't be what they are used to.
"One good thing for us is that City might be distracted. They played Manchester United in the League Cup on Tuesday, they have United again in the second leg of that next week, so maybe they'll have one eye on their local derby when they play us and we can catch them cold.
"If we take the game to City and try to frighten them a bit, we'll see what they are made of then."
