West Brom are set to complete a deal for Wigan's Callum McManaman.

The winger is poised to seal a switch from the Latics to become Tony Pulis' first signing at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies had seen two bids rejected for McManaman but have now struck an agreement with the Sky Bet Championship strugglers.

McManaman has scored five goals in 23 games for the Latics, who are second bottom of the table.

Pulis, who replaced Alan Irvine as head coach this month, had been hunting reinforcements after running the rule over his squad.

He has allowed Georgios Samaras, Silvestre Varela and Sebastian Blanco to leave while the futures of £10million record signing Brown Ideye and Jason Davidson are in doubt.

He remains keen on Wolves' Bakary Sako, although the Molineux side claim they have had no contact from their local rivals.

Albion have agreed a deal with ex-Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi, who is available on a free transfer, but the forward is still to complete a move and does have other options.

The Baggies are unbeaten in four games under Pulis and are 14th in the Barclays Premier League ahead of Saturday's visit of Tottenham.
