Bríde realise a dream with Eureka moment

WEXFORD school Coláiste Bríde's incredible story continues to impress after they beat Eureka Secondary School 3-0 in yesterday's FAI Schools First Year Girls' Leinster Cup final.

It is the second time Bríde have won the competition in three years and makes it an incredible four Leinster titles in just four years of soccer being played at the school.

Less than two months after beating holders Alexandra College in the Junior Cup Final, the Enniscorthy school emphatically saw off first year champions Eureka in Newtownmountkennedy.

The Kells outfit went into the game on the back of their consecutive Senior Cup successes, but were steamrolled by two first-half goals from Dervla Doyle.

The striker opened the scoring on 10 minutes with a neat finish, before doubling the lead at the end of the half.

Despite Kells pushing for a way back into the contest after the break, Niamh Synnott sealed the win with 10 minutes to go when she capitalised on a loose ball in the Eureka penalty area.
