Bolger and Flood keep Pats in third

St Patrick's Athletic remain in third place in the Airtricity League after an impressive 2-0 win over Cork City at Turner's Cross.

Pats controlled the opening quarter of the game and hit the front on 22 minutes when Anto Flood expertly glanced home Chris Forrester's inviting cross.

Greg Bolger doubled Pats advantage on 48 minutes and they never looked like relinquishing their lead.

Shelbourne recorded their first win of the 2013 Airtricity League season with a hard-fought 2-0 win over UCD.

Neither side were dictating things early on but it was Shels who took the lead through Adam Hanlon on 26 minutes when his 25-yard drive nestled in the bottom corner.

Shels doubled their lead 12 minutes after the break when Stephen Hurley's beautifully timed volley flew into the top corner and they held on for a much-needed three points.

Bray Wanderers are propping up the table following a 1-0 loss to Dundalk at the Carlisle Grounds.

After a drab first half where both sides rarely threatened, Dundalk hit the front when Darren Meenan's corner was headed to the net by Pat Hoban and Pat Devlin's men couldn't find an equaliser.
