Bohs give Cup run to youngsters

PAT FENLON will give some of his youngsters at Bohemians another chance to impress in tonight's Setanta Sports Cup battle with Portadown.

Bohs, the Setanta Cup holders, are 2-1 down from the first leg, but the competition is not a priority for Fenlon (pictured below), and with experienced players such as Barry Murphy, Chris O'Connor, Killian Brennan, Mark Rossiter and Ger O'Brien missing tonight, the Bohs kids will get another opportunity to shine.

"We've crammed in a few games in the past few weeks having not played for months. It's an opportunity to have a look at some of the younger lads. We don't have the biggest squad and have to think of Friday's game with Drogheda. The Setanta Cup is not a priority for us but we want to try and win if we can," said Fenlon.

Young players Craig Sexton, Stephen Traynor, Lee Dixon, Karl Somers and Roberto Lopez all played in Friday's win over Bray and they should feature again at Shamrock Park.
