Bohemians are out of the Setanta Cup, but Dundalk are in with a great chance of making the semi-finals after a night of contrasting fortunes for the two clubs against Northern opposition.
Bohs were sent packing 2-0 by Portadown, and 4-1 on aggregate, in their round one second leg clash.
The Dubliners played some good football in the first half, but were always chasing the game after Jordan Baker opened the scoring for Portadown after just 10 minutes.
And the game was up for Pat Fenlon's side when Tim Mouncey made it two just after the break.
Portadown will now go on to play Sligo Rovers in the quarter-finals, with the first leg at the Showgrounds on March 22.
It was a better night for Dundalk, after Mark Quigley's stunning volley eight minutes from time gave them a 1-0 win away to Glentoran in the first leg of their quarter-final tie and they can seal progress in two weeks' time.
