SAM Allardyce believes that he would win the Double every season if he was appointed by Manchester United or Chelsea.
The Blackburn Rovers boss has also claimed he would be just as big a success if he were in charge at Real Madrid or European champions Inter Milan.
Self-confidence and Big Sam have always been comfortable bedfellows, but even the former Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle United manager's greatest admirers might be taken aback by his latest bout of egotism.
While he has forged a reputation as a manager who can impress on a tight budget, Allardyce once claimed that if his surname were "Allardici", more opportunities would have come his way.
But despite never managing at the highest level, he believes that he would be better suited to the biggest stage and is convinced that, if given the chance by a club of the stature of United, Chelsea, Real or Inter, he would be a guaranteed success.
"I'm not suited to Bolton or Blackburn, I would be more suited to Inter Milan or Real Madrid," Allardyce said. "It wouldn't be a problem for me to go and manage those clubs because I would win the Double or the league every time.
"Give me Manchester United or Chelsea and I would do the same. It wouldn't be a problem. It's not where I'm suited to, it's just where I've been for most of the time. It's not a problem to take me into the higher reaches of the Champions League or Premier League and would make my job a lot easier in winning it."
