LEON BEST hopes to turn international football into a family affair and link up some day in the green shirt with his nephew.
Best (27) already has senior international experience, having won seven caps under Giovanni Trapattoni (2009-10), but his nephew Stephen is just starting out.
The Crumlin United prospect is part of the Ireland U17 side who are in Serbia this week for the Elite round of qualification for the European Championship finals, with Tom Mohan's side playing the hosts Serbia today in the first of three games.
"My brother's lad, Stephen, did really well to get into the U17s for the qualifiers and we all have high hopes for him," says Best.
"I don't know the last time you had an uncle and nephew in the same team with Ireland, maybe it could happen for us some day in the near future."
