Rafael Benitez's wife has offered up a playful jab at Jose Mourinho, after claiming her husband specialises in cleaning up the mess left behind by the current Chelsea boss at some of the world's top clubs.

Benitez has followed Mourinho by working for Inter Milan, Chelsea and now Real Madrid, with the duo rarely seeing eye-to-eye as their paths have crossed down the years.

While Mourinho has been far more successful than Benitez at each of the clubs on their respective CV's so far, Mrs Monserrat Seara Benitez offered up this quip in an interview with La Region.

"Real Madrid are the third of Jose Mourinho's old teams Rafa has coached. We tidy up his messes," she said.

"If you think about it, of course you end up crossing paths. There are only a few world-class clubs out there."

She also went on to speak about Benitez's love of his work, as she revealed details of their first night out together.

"On our first date, Rafa explained to me what a 4-4-2 was. He finds it hard to stay away from the game," she added. "He doesn't see football as work, it's his passion."

It is safe to assume Mrs Benitez and Mrs Mourinho will not be getting together for tea and cake if Real Madrid meet Chelsea at any point in the upcoming season.
