'Bell look set to widen gap in the Garden

It is a case of Saturday Night Fever in the LSL Senior Division this evening, with two out of the top four in action, including league leaders Bluebell United.

United head to Wicklow to take on Arklow Town looking to stretch their lead at the top to nine points, while St Pat's CY will be aiming to go into second spot with a win against third-from-bottom Belgrove.

Bluebell extended their lead at the summit last weekend when they defeated Bangor Celtic by the odd goal in three, while all three sides beneath them faltered, all of them drawing and failing to score in the process.

That cushion could be extended tonight, and Andy Noonan's side will be odds-on to add the three points to their tally and move further ahead of the chasing pack, even if it's only for a few hours.

Town will be looking to break their duck at home. The Garden County side have lost all five of their outings on their own patch this term. It's away from home that Arklow have picked up their 10 points, but tonight they will be seeking some home comforts.

SENIOR DIVISION

ST PAT'S CY v BELGROVE (Tonight)

The Saints will look to spoil Rocky O'Brien's return to his home town as the Ringsend outfit look to go into second. John Young's side have already defeated Belgrove this season and must win this type of game to consider themselves title-race contenders. Verdict: Home Win.

ARKLOW TOWN v BLUEBELL UNITED

Town will be looking to drag themselves up and out of the bottom four. Meanwhile, Bluebell certainly won't deliver up their advantage at the top without a fight. Verdict: Away Win.

WAYSIDE CELTIC v TOLKA ROVERS

The Celts head into this one on the back of a four-game winning streak. Tolka's impressive seven-game unbeaten run came to an end a couple of weeks ago. Verdict: Home Win.

MOUNT MERRION v PHOENIX

The Nix will view this game as a chance to muscle their way among the top teams. Merrion are on the back of a four-game losing streak and will struggle to end that run. Verdict: Away Win.

FIRHOUSE CLOVER v CRUMLIN UNITED

Crumlin are six points off the top and will be looking to net their first league goal in three games. Firhouse will give them a tough spin tomorrow. Verdict: Draw.
