Bell' can toll on Killester cup run

Haddon Park is the setting for an explosive Cahill Cup first-round encounter as the collective talent of Killester United and Bluebell United run headlong into each other tomorrow afternoon.

Killester arrested a three-game winless streak last week when they produced one of the comebacks of the season to shock St Pat's CY.

The Saints went two goals up and only the width of a Haddon Park post stopped the 'Y' from going three ahead.

United bounced back and Irish international Davy Lacey - back to full fitness ahead of the UEFA Regions Cup - cracked home a stunning hat-trick to hand Joey Graydon's side the win.

Bluebell were on the northside themselves as they bounced back from a midweek defeat by Bangor Celtic to get the better of table-toppers Drumcondra.

Gareth Cooney and Brandon Miele netting as the 'Bell made it four wins from five.

Both will be happy to rediscover their form in time for this nowhere-to-hide battle.

There will be a winner - extra time and penalties are on call if needed - so expect goals and expect some early Halloween fireworks too.

Cahill Cup First Round

Killester United v Bluebell United

The tests continue to be presented in front of Killester as they take on another of the LSL's big guns. United has been more than a match for any side in the league so far, but they will have it all to do against the 'Bell.

Verdict: Away Win.
