Barca win put Hoops 'back with big boys'

FORMER Celtic man Darren O'Dea says he remains a fan of the club despite his exit from Parkhead, and he was thrilled to see his former team-mates win that memorable game against Barcelona last week.

A high point of O'Dea's time at Celtic was a Champions League duel with AC Milan so the win over Barca brought back memories.

"It was great to see the club back where it belongs. I don't think anyone gave them much of a hope at the start of the group but they have shown what's possible when you work hard and they can compete," says O'Dea, now at MLS side Toronto.

"On the night they were amazing and I know from being there as a player that sometimes Celtic Park just brings out something special in you and that was one of those nights, it was great to see.

"I was a Celtic fan before I went there and I am still a Celtic fan so I will watch them and hope they do well. I was fortunate enough to play over 70 games for the club, win trophies and play in big European matches so I was very pleased to see them do well against Barca."
