Having already defeated the Saints in the Shield decider, Rangers had also beaten Arklow Town B in the Cup final.

Both teams went into the game on Friday, May 31 at Allen Park knowing a victory would see them become champions having drawn 2-2 five days previously at Finn Park in Kilcoole.

Rangers broke the deadlock in the 15th minute as Alan Doyle curled a free from outside the box into the top right corner of the net.

In what was the sixth match in all competitions between the sides, Aughrim made it 2-0 midway through the second period.

Another free by Doyle was met by Mark Whelan who drove the ball in.

But St. Anthony's ensured there was a nervous remaining few minutes as defender CJ Buckley scored with seven minutes of normal time remaining.

Two fabulous first-half strikes by Callum Leggett paved the way for Wolfe Tone to lift the WDSL U-11 Division 2 Shield.

And the result at Mill Road in Ashford on Wednesday May 29 avenged their extra-time Under 11 Division 1 Cup loss to Avonmore.

Victor Adamson's surging run set up Leggett to fire the Bray side ahead in the 17th minute.

Matthew Williams, Adam Melia and Adamson were all involved as Leggett made it 2-0 seven minutes later.

Striker Adam Melia headed into an open goal 11 minutes into the second half after the bounce of William's cross deceived 'keeper Ryan Delamare.

Avonmore pulled one back in the 53rd minute when Alex Olohan squared for Cod Reid to score. But Williams had the last say three minutes before the final whistle.

Adam Byrne's corner was cleared to the winger whose shot was pushed to the net by Delamare's diving save.

In a remarkable game that had everything good about WDSL football, Arklow staged a remarkable comeback to secure the U11 Division 3 Shield.

Trailing 2-0 at half-time, the Town rallied to lead 3-2 at Mill Road in Ashford on Wednesday, May 29 before the brave Saint's forced extra-time.

The match was in the last minute of the first period of extra-time when PJ O'Connor's cross was diverted into his own goal by a St. Pat's player.

With goalkeeper Josh Cheetham playing a man-of-the-match role, the Avoca side raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to Paddy Roche's double in the eighth and 23rd minutes.

Arklow rallied after the break and levelled the game with two goals in 90 seconds from Dylan Smyth and Lee Kenny's stunning shot.

Shane Parle's 20-yard screamer put the Town ahead with 10 minutes to go. But with two minutes left, Roy Byrne's long-range free was deflected in to force extra-time.

ASHFORD ROVERS .......................................1

Three goals in each period crowned Enniskerry WDSL U-13 Division 1 champions.

Both Alex Flynn and Michael McMahon were on the scoresheet for the Red and White's at Finn Park in Kilcoole on Saturday June 1.

Jack Kissane and Jason Matthews also bagged single goals with Cormac Doyle firing in Ashford's lone response.

It was the seventh meeting of the teams this season. Enniskerry had won twice in the U13 Division 1 Shield group stages (6-3 and 2-1), and 4-3 in the SFAI Troy Cup. They also had two U13 Premier Division success' (8-1 and 5-0).

But Rovers took the Shield silverware, winning 3-2 after extra time.
