IRELAND international Noel Hunt is almost certain to miss the rest of the season with promotion-chasing Ipswich Town due to a knee injury.

The 32-year-old made an impact after joining Ipswich from Leeds United, initially on loan and then in a permanent deal, scoring three goals in 13 games.

But Waterford man Hunt suffered a knee injury during last week's win over Fulham and the club today revealed that he will be out for up to 12 weeks, effectively ending his season.

"The medical team at Portman Road have worked intensely with Noel but scans have revealed the full extent of the injury- his medial ligament- which could see him miss the rest of the season," the club said.
