ARSENE Wenger is reported to be preparing a cheeky bid to bring Robin van Persie back to Arsenal amid intense speculation about the Dutchman's Manchester United future.

Reports suggest that van Persie spent time on the training ground yesterday trying to explain his comments in the wake of a 2-0 Champions League defeat by Olympiacos which pinned the blame for the loss on everyone except himself.

An uneasy dressing room is the last thing David Moyes needs and a response from Javier Hernadez calling for unity at the club indicated that there is indeed unrest.

Further speculation in Holland claims that van Persie has told friends that he wants a move in the summer, that Wenger is open to the idea of a return and has set wheels in motion to make it happen.

Meanwhile, David Moyes is getting ready to make a bid for Spurs winger Aaron Lennon as a replacement for the underperforming Antonio Valencia.
