THE 2012/2013 U17 Girls Leinster League Cup final looks certain to follow last year's decider and be pushed into the following season.
Alexandra College captured last year's cup in November thanks to a 4-2 win over St Mary's College, Naas.
Fixture congestion at the end of last season meant both schools had to wait until after the summer break to play the fixture and, ironically, both face an identical wait all over again.
Holders Alexandra face runners-up St Mary's once again in this season's decider, but the game doesn't look like being played in the coming weeks.
Caroline Healy's solitary goal in their semi-final clash with Leinster Cup champions Sacred Heart School, Tullamore, was enough to send Alexandra into the showpiece.
Healy was central to her side's victory in last season's final win at the end of 2012 as she missed a first-half penalty.
Goals from Aideen Cowhey and Shannon Doherty at either end saw the first half end level at Leixlip United FC.
However, three goals in quick succession early in the second half sent the result in Alexandra's favour.
Hannah McDermott scored goals either side of Aishlin Nugent's strike to give the Milltown school a lead they would not surrender.
The only question now is how many of those players will take part in the delayed game as they will have graduated from the school by then.
