ADAM Evans became the Bohemians hero once again after his spectacular volley claimed a deserved Premier Division point against Cork City at Dalymount Park yesterday evening.

Substitute Evans, the Gypsies' top scorer so far this season, pounced to level matters in the 84th minute after City's Mark O'Sullivan had given the visitors an early lead - also in spectacular circumstances.

The visitors led for all but 11 minutes of the fixture after O'Sullivan produced a classy finish from Liam Miller's pass in the second minute of the game. Try as they did, however, the Leesiders could not fashion a second despite seeing plenty of the ball.

Mark McNulty gathered a free kick from the boot of Lorcan Fitzgerald on 16 minutes, while Dean Delany showed his aerial skill from a Billy Dennehy corner less than a minute later.

Cork lost another player to injury on 67 minutes. Billy Dennehy felt the power behind a set piece from Fitzgerald but after some initial concern, the winger was able to walk from the pitch and was replaced by Kieran Djilali.

Instead, it was the home side that pressed forward in the second half - with City dropping further and further back - and after a handful of half chances, Evans (pictured above) netted with a sweetly-struck volley.
