Seán is still inspiring the College generations

SEáN MURRAY was a Longford leader. He played on the only Longford team to win the Leinster Senior Football Championship in 1968.

Two years earlier, Longford won the National League title, beating the great Galway side.

Sean earned his place on the Cú Chulainn All-Star team of 1965, alongside such legends as Enda Colleran (Galway), Mick O'Connell (Kerry), Mickey Kearins (Sligo) and Seán O'Neill (Down). There were also two Dubs selected, Paddy Holden and Des Foley.

Seán was central to Sigerson success at UCD. A inspirational captain.

He was also the founder and the chairman of the UCD Graduates committee.

He became a partner at Grant Thornton, and the company now sponsor the UCD football bursary in his memory.

Davy Billings is the GAA supremo and the football captain is Jack McCaffrey.

They and all at Belfield deeply appreciate the continued support of Grant Thornton.
