THERE must be a real buzz around Cistercian College as they digest the achievement of wiping out Blackrock in the Senior Cup for the first time in their history.

Their Juniors aren't too bad either.

They took out St Mary's 31-14 in the first round with powerful centre Adi Donovan grabbing a hat-trick and number eight Luke Rigney leading the way up front.

Pres' have in Mick O'Gara a playmaker with authority, one who plays the game beyond his mere years.

He had real line-breaking menace from centre James Vance and leadership from number eight Joe McLaughlin in their 23-0 whitewash of Kilkenny.

VERDICT: Roscrea

Blackrock College v Gonzaga, Donnybrook, Thursday (3.0)

THE Williamstown school was given a stern examination by Clongowes Wood in the outstanding first round tie.

There were times when they struggled to cope with Clongowes aggressive work on the fringes of the ruck.

However, when the ball was moved into the hands of out-half Joey Caputo they moved to another level with outside centre Liam Turner (inset), their captain, announcing his special talents to the public.

Gonzaga totted up four tries in their 32-0 display against Newbridge.

Fly-half Eoin Barr is a punishing kicker and there is enough forward firepower from lock Eoin Buggy, number eight Ian O'Grady and hooker Eoin Barron to keep 'Rock on their toes.

VERDICT: Blackrock
