MEATH'S St Peter's College and Grennan College of Kilkenny claimed provincial glory at this year's FAI Schools First Year Leinster Futsal Finals in Gormanston.
The wonderful setting of Franciscan College again hosted the popular event on Tuesday and a home-county team capped the occasion by claiming the glory.
Dunboyne school St Peter's saw off the challenge of Lucan's Scoil Cois Life at the end of an exciting boys final. Despite taking an early lead, St Peter's were pegged back late and the game was decided on penalties.
With both teams still level after five kicks each, it came down to the sudden-death sixth and the West Dubliners were the unlucky ones on this occasion.
In the girls section, Wexford's St Mary's College awaited Grennan in the showpiece after both sides won their respective groups.
St Mary's had scored 19 goals and only conceded one in their group but Grennan were able to restrict them to not scoring and grabbed the one crucial goal needed to decide the title late on.
Both Grennan and St Peter's will now compete for All-Ireland titles when the national finals are held at the same venue on Tuesday, December 6.
