Hartstown will have to be right on their game to stop deadly De La Salle

DE LA SALLE, Dundalk go in search of their first FAI Schools First Year Boys Leinster title when they take on Hartstown Community School in next month's final.

A Sean Murray strike was enough to give the Louth school a slender 1-0 victory over Larkin Community College in last week's semi-final in Drogheda. In the other final-four clash Hartstown proved too strong for Gorey Community School in the end, running out 3-1 winners in Greystones.

The West Dublin school will need to be at their best to spoil the day for De La Salle, who have moved quickly through the competition from the start, kicking off their campaign with an incredible 17-1 victory over another Dundalk school, Colaiste Ris.

Manager Brian Halpin is a former pupil in the school and if his side are to taste glory it will be a first for him also as he never won a provincial title during his playing days.

Padraig Staunton -- brother of former Ireland international player and manager Steve -- is Halpin's assistant and also a former student at the famous secondary school.

"The final is going to be a great occasion for the school and everybody is really excited now," said Halpin.

"We even have the lads in over the Easter Holidays for training; just to get the final buzz going amongst the group. We got off to a hell of a start with the opening result."
