Gaelic Football: Salesian breakthrough with 'B'

Salesian College won their first Dublin Schools Senior 'B' football title at DCU on Monday.

The Celbridge school produced a strong first half display and used the win at their backs to the fullest of their abilities.

Their two matches against St David's stood to Salesians against an Oatlands side who hadn't had a game since before Christmas.

And it told early on with hard working midfielders Conor Kenny and captain Conor Plunkett driving them forward with points.

Fergal Conway and centre-back Michael O'Grady also chipped in, before two goals from full-forward Dylan Corcoran sent them in 2-8 to 0-2 at the break.

Oatlands came back into the game after the break and scored several points and won a penalty, which they converted.

But scores from U16s Patrick Brophy and Gerry Keegan relieved the pressure and saw Salesians to the title.
