Gaelic Football: Committee set to decide game

THIS tie looks set to be decided in the committee room after referee Dave Feeney abandoned this Dublin Schools SFC 'A' semi-final at half-time last Friday afternoon at Belfield.

With half-time approaching Malahide Community School's talented Dublin under-21 forward Gary Sweeney was sent to the line after earning his second yellow card for dissent.

Shortly after, referee Feeney also dismissed a Malahide mentor for protesting vehemently against his decision before the Parnells whistler eventually abandoned the game as the protest continued.

The Dublin Schools Competition Control Committee have received the referee's match report and are currently acting on it.

The tie had started slowly with Malahide losing Fionn Cahill after just two minutes when he picked up a nasty injury after landing awkwardly on fielding a kick-out.

When the game resumed Coláiste Eoin built up a small lead before being pegged back by a reorganised Malahide CS. When half-time rolled around Eoin were leading their North County opponents by the minimum, 0-5 to 0-4, when ref Feeney took the decision to abandon the game.
