Ryan impresses on Costello's Boy in Kilkenny competition

It's been a busy few weeks for St Kieran's, Kilkenny who recently hosted a round of the National Equestrian Inter-Schools League at the Warrington Equestrian Centre.

Well over 50 teams entered, representing schools from Wicklow, Wexford, Kildare, Tipperary  and Limerick.

The format consisted of a first round in the outdoor arena, followed by a second round indoors.

First up was the novice team competition, won by Kildare Town Community College, followed by St Brendan's Community School Birr in second and St Declan's Community College in third place.

This was followed by the novice individual event over one round won by Aoife Crowdle on Skylark.

A great ride from Jack Ryan on Costello's Boy saw him coming out on top of the open grade. St Kieran's were well represented, with Jack Brennan finishing in second place and Diarmuid O'Brien in fifth.

Good Counsel of New Ross won the open team category, beating Loreto Wexford and Ardscoil Trionoide in a competition of high standard.
