The Irish Rugby Institute launched its 2011 courses in Suttonians RFC this week and more than 100 young players enjoyed the Academy and Mini courses in stunning weather.
As usual, experienced, highly-qualified coaches delivered age-specific coaching in the areas of rugby skills and game appreciation, fundamental movement and basic conditioning, mental preparation and nutrition.
This year witnessed the first girls-only tag course -- which was extremely well received. IRI director Robert Forbes said: "Every year the young players' skill level and appetite to absorb concepts seems to increase. If we can give solid foundations to young players, hopefully we can help them on a path towards reaching their own full potential."
The Irish Rugby Institute Easter courses continue on Tuesday (26th April) in St Marys RFC. www.rugbyinstitute.com / 01 8391604.
