Ashbourne RFC are kindly hosting Leinster women's second game of the Interprovincial series, against Connacht tomorrow evening (KO: 6pm).
The Leinster Women's Committee decided to use the Interpros as the centrepiece for a celebration of Women's Rugby, incorporating the second annual Season Opener Club Blitz.
The fun-filled day will commence with the blitz and, this year, a record number of 15 clubs have entered. The action starts at midday and participating clubs are from all four divisions. One of the main highlights of the day is that we are trying to break the Guinness World Record for the biggest scrum (more than 202 people). There will be many other attractions to entertain both spectators and players in what promises to be a memorable day.
A huge thank you must go out to the sponsors, Phillips and Aircoach, for their continuing support of Leinster Women's Rugby. Also, thanks to Rod Cosgrave and his team of volunteers in Ashbourne RFC who will no doubt ensure that the day is a huge success!
For more information on the day or any other Women's rugby queries contact Women's Development Officer Jennie on: 086-3322136 or visit www.leinsterrugby.ie.
