Wesley honour loyal No10 David for points milestone

Old Wesley out-half David Smith recently joined an elite group of six players who have scored 1,000 AIB League points after he reached the milestone against Greystones in December.

With the exception of a year living abroad, David has been a permanent member of the senior team for more than 10 seasons.

A loyal club member, he was honoured with the captaincy in 2006/07. His biggest fans are his parents, Joe and Rosemary (stalwarts of Enniscorthy RFC), who rarely miss a match.

Still only 30, David has no intention of retiring from the game and hopes to continue notching up points for many years to come.

To mark the occasion David's fellow players recently presented him with a trophy.
