Ulster won't leave Bath empty

HEINEKEN CUP POOL 4: Bath v Ulster, the Recreation Ground, TOMORROW (LIVE SKY SPORTS 1, KO 1.30)

It came like a bolt from the blue when Aironi, the bottom club in the Magners League, doused the fire of Imanol Harinordoquy's Biarritz Olympique 28-27 in Pool Four at Stadio Luigi Zaffanella.

This served as an eye-popping reminder of how every club has to be spot-on in their preparations and dedication to a game plan. It isn't just a cliché. Or else, a shock can be sent to the system. It must have given Ulster a shot of adrenalin as they surveyed a stuttering performance at home to Bath where the goal-kicking of Ian Humphreys just about made up for his disregard for the ball, throwing away interceptions and gilt-edged try-scoring chances.

This Pool has been thrown wide open. Ulster must go back-to-back against the Aviva Premiership club in what would be a repeat of their away win at The Rec' last season.

Verdict: Ulster
