Ulster to rest up Marshall

ULSTER scrum-half Paul Marshall will be rested for this Friday's Rabodirect Pro12 clash with Leinster at Ravenhill because of an elbow injury.

Coach Brian McLaughlin said the injury was not a worry but the exciting number nine would not be risked as their Heineken Cup semi-final with Edinburgh is just over a week away.

"Paul will not be playing," McLaughlin said. "He has picked up a little tear to a tendon on his right elbow and he will be re-assessed next week.

"We will know then how he is prior to the Heineken Cup game against Edinburgh."

McLaughlin is expected to bring back all the big names he rested in Ulster's defeat to Connacht last weekend.
