TV stations skip Treviso tussle

THE Official Leinster Supporters Club (OLSC) works on behalf of all season ticket holders on various issues.

Earlier this week the club contacted both RTE and TG4 as our game is not scheduled to be shown on TV tomorrow evening (live or otherwise).

Mark McKenna, executive producer, rugby, RTE Sport, told the OLSC that for contractual and logistical reasons they do not broadcast every match in the PRO12.

He explained that when they cover matches they are selected on editorial grounds and on this occasion it was decided not to cover the Leinster v Treviso fixture.

He added that RTE Television has already covered seven Leinster games this season, which compares favourably to coverage of other Irish teams.

Rónán Ó Coisdealbha, head of sport at TG4, told the OLSC that TG4 had been unable to cover tomorrow's game as the schedule already consisted of six hours of live football and hurling earlier in the day.

Tickets for Leinster v Treviso (KO: 5pm) can still be purchased at the Leinster Rugby Store or at www.leinsterrugby.ie.
