Tommy in last-minute World Cup packing crisis

TOMMY Bowe doesn't know what to pack and Jamie Heaslip is missing his dog Jay-Z.

That was the report from the Irish rugby camp today as they set off to New Zealand for the Rugby World Cup.

The team was due to gather in Dublin Airport this afternoon for the epic journey.

But last night squad members revealed their last minute issues.

Leinster man Heaslip was particularly worried about who would look after his bulldog for the next month.

He revealed that Jay-Z has been "sent off to his country manor" for some pampering while his owner prepares to take on the might of Australia in the tournament.

Earlier this week Heaslip was pictured with his adorable pet in matching headphones. His teammate Tommy Bowe was having trouble deciding what to pack for the trip.

As this picture shows his living room was more than a little bit messy as he struggled to squeeze everything in.

"Ok took a break, now for more packing. What do I take?" he asked online followers.

But Ulster hooker Rory Best appeared more organised than the others, saying: "All set and ready for my second RWC -- looking forward to enjoying the whole experience."

The sporting stars take off with their 30-man squad today ahead of their first test against USA on September 11.

The Irish squad suffered another blow as they prepared to depart for New Zealand with their world ranking taking a battering.

After four straight defeats in recent weeks, Declan Kidney's team are now the eighth-ranked team in the world.

That position equals their lowest ever standing in the rankings,

But optimistic fans will remember that they were given a similar rating in the season before their memorable Grand-Slam winning campaign in 2009.
