Queensland Reds have moved into pole position to sign Ben Te'o from Leinster at the end of the season.

There, the centre would reunite with his former mentor Matt O'Connor, the Reds' new attack coach.

Te'o was known to be upset at the sacking of O'Connor at the end of last season.

It is understood the move is being organised as part of the dual attraction of returning to Brisbane, where Te'o can further develop under O'Connor, and launch his bid to become a Wallaby.

This means two former Leinster coaches, O'Connor and Michael Cheika, will play a big part in his decision to look to Australia for international rugby, instead of New Zealand or England.

It would bring down the curtain on his two-season stint at Leinster.

The centre is a wanted man by both codes of rugby. He has been linked with a return to the South Sydney Rabbitohs, where he would team-up with 'great mate' George Burgess, and more recently with union clubs in France and England.

However, the lure of the next World Cup in Japan and the fact Leinster have rekindled his love of the game are tempting him to lean towards The Reds.
