Silverware on show

SCHOOLS in the Tullamore area were delighted to welcome Leinster's haul of three trophies won in the 2012-13 season.

Tullamore CCRO's John Burns and Rob Connor had a great selection of silverware on show as the Amlin Challenge Cup, PRO12 Trophy and the British and Irish Cup were on hand as well as trophies won by Tullamore RFC 1st XV.

There was a huge buzz as the three-day tour took in primary schools at Mucklagh, Durrow, Ballinamere, Charleville, Scoil Bríde, Scoil Eoin Pól, Scoil Mhuire, St Joseph's, Killeigh, Cappagh, Geashill and Ballingar. Secondary schools visited were Sacred Heart Girls' School, Tullamore College and Presentation Killina.

The path to professional rugby starts with joining a local club, through to Midland master class training sessions at U15 level, playing the Shane Horgan Cup, representing their area at U16 with a chance to be selected for Leinster and Irish Youths and ultimately, if talented enough, to be invited to join the Leinster Academy.
