MORE than 60 U15 players from the eight clubs in the North Midlands area were invited to attend a training session in Clane RFC.
The players were put through a screening process which is part of the LTPD (Long Term Player Development) programme.
The screening is to help evaluate player strengths and weaknesses in passing, tackling and decision-making. All players were given relevant feedback by Leinster-qualified coaches.
There will be another two training day held in the North Midlands in the new year.
All clubs will be notified and again asked to send players.
Looking at the standard of players coming through, rugby in the North Midlands is on the up which is a credit to all clubs and coaches involved in the development of players.
