MUNSTER lead the league by a single point from previous pacesetters Glasgow Warriors. They simply need to come away from the inconsistent Blues with four points because they have been given a relatively soft opening to the season.

While the southern province has not been tearing it up, there is a grinding, winning formula that is serving them well, losing just one of their last half-dozen games on two fronts.

Munster have been able to handle the Welsh fire of the Dragons (23-9) and the Ospreys (12-6) last time out, both of them at home.

Rob Penney's men also hold a 5-1 record against Cardiff in their six most recent encounters and have not been beaten by the Blues in Wales since 2010.
