Pupils shine in Blitz

THE sun shone on the St Vincent's, Glasnevin, Blitz that took place recently and the players certainly made the most of the good conditions with some expansive free-flowing rugby played.

The students from first year had undertaken a six-week block of coaching during PE classes and for the first time in St Vincent's, they had transitioned into contact rugby. Eighty children in the school had participated in the programme and they'd clearly learnt lots of new skills.

Great tries and running rugby were there for all to see and rugby coach in the school, Neil McCann, said: "The first year contact programme has been a great lead-in to our rugby team in the school."
